The Porsche Cayenne has received some major exterior and interior updates and it now looks more like a 911. It is now even more powerful as all the engine options get increased output.

Porsche Cayenne is available with 4 trim configurations namely – base, S, E-Hybrid, and Turbo. The 2019 Porsche Cayenne MSRP starts at $65,700 and goes up to $124,600 for the Turbo trim. Cayenne comes pretty equipped from the base itself as you get a powerful 3-liter V6 engine that makes a total of 335 hp. It gets 19-inch wheels, partial leather seats, and 12.4-inch infotainment system to start with. The fuel efficiency figures of Cayenne are a bit low as it can run 19 mpg in the city, 23 mpg on the highway and a combined of 21 mpg on a single gallon of fuel.
The Cayenne S model, as the name suggests is an even sportier Cayenne as it gets a 2.9-liter V6 that is twin-turbocharged and is rated at 434 hp. It gets PASM (adaptive suspensions) and panoramic roof.
The E-hybrid Cayenne is a PHEV that gets a combustion engine paired to an electric motor. This engine churns out a power of 455 hp and can run 27 miles on the motor before switching on to the 3-liter V6 powertrain. It delivers a fuel efficiency of 47 mpge which is extremely wonderful for a sports SUV.
The most powerful Cayenne is the Turbo as it replaces the V6 from all trims with a 4.0-liter V8 engine. This engine makes a mammoth 541 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in just 2.7 seconds. It is also the most heavily equipped Cayenne ever. You get a 14-speaker Bose sound system, front sport seats and much more.
All these trims are All-wheel-drive enabled and get a 8-speed automatic transmission as standard.
Cayenne’s handling is just mesmerizing. The ease with which it handles curves and corners is simply breathtaking. Steering response is excellent and sharp, it’s like driving a 911. Not just that, with upgraded brakes, bringing this beast to a halt is quite easy.
There are a few cars that can match what the Cayenne offers in terms of interiors. With high-quality materials and exceptional build quality, it is second to none. Seats are comfortable and have a good posture giving you hours of comfortable drive without getting tired. Even the cargo space is adequate to keep a family’s luggage for a week’s trip.
From the outside, Porsche Cayenne has been completely changed and now it resemble to its sister car 911. Its chassis is based on the same underpinnings of the VW group’s giants Audi Q7 or the Bentley Bentayga. The front air intakes are bigger than ever this year and it sits a little lower than the 2018 Cayenne giving it a sportier look.
In terms of safety, Porsche Cayenne is not yet crash tested by the NHTSA and IIHS but the ratings will be high of course. Porsche has given plenty of active and passive safety features like Lane assist, Forward collision warning, front and side airbags, and automatic emergency braking.
Verdict
In its 2019 iteration, the Porsche has overhauled its biggest SUV and infused it with Panamera like cabin. It is a better performer than most of the SUV’s and with recent updates, it looks all-new and sharper than ever.
